Dress challenge, Day 4

Temperatures have soared into the high 90/ for the past 3 weeks. Need something cool to wear.

Enter this cute number. Coral/black/cream print from … Dollar General. Yup. Price: $15 (plus I snagged a $12 tip for $6).

Shades of gray and yellow

Seeing all these hints of spring – and sunshine – have me searching out color in my wardrobe.

I bought this dress on clearance at Dollar General for $5.  I like the varying shades of gray. In the summer, tights won’t be necessary but on a windy April day, I’m fine with the look. Tights are Cato brand.

The yellow cardigan is lightweight. Target, on sale for $7.99.

Paired this look off with a pair of gray flats. Look out, world!

Herringbone vest

A year ago, when vests were all the rage, I loaded up on them when a couple stores offered sales. This herringbone vest was on clearance at Old Navy. Price tag: 11.99. How could I say no? I couldn’t.

Paired it with a mustard shirt, from Shopko. Clearance rack for 6.99.

The black leggings look like jeans. Found them at Dollar General for $15. They had a blue dot tag sale so I could get another blue dot item for free that day. Found another pair of leggings.

For fun, I added a cornflower blue and light yellow striped scarf. Cato clearance $2.99.

Why do I like this look? It’s classic yet contemporary. And … it did not cost a lot.

Black dress, part deux

Ask how many little black dresses I have hanging in my closet.

Go ahead and ask.

Why not add one more, right? So… I found this great black long sleeve dress at Cato. What drew me in at first was the neckline. A little plunging. A little different.

I had to have it. Clearance rack: 9.99

Paired it with these wild black and white leggings. DollarGeneral clearance. 5.99

Black riding boots from QVC clearance. 35.99.

Basic. Black. Brilliant.
